				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>One of the most influential books I have ever read.  So influential, that I have read it three maybe four times and I have met business professionals that are highly successful that have read it ten or eleven times.  Napoleon Hill&#8217;s masterpiece costs about ten bucks at any bookstore and even some grocery stores.  In it, you will find 13 principles which Mr. Hill discovered to be common to the most powerful and successful people of his time.  Let me give you a bit more back story.  Napoleon Hill was asked at a young age to visit with the greatest entrepreneurs of his time and after a 2o year study and interviewing over 200 entrepreneurs he developed the 13 principles of success.  These principles were what the most successful people in the world were doing all the time.  Tony Robbins says that success leaves clues and that modeling is the best way to do something.  Why reinvent the wheel is the common adage.</p>
<p>Napoleon Hill&#8217;s 13 principles were as follows;</p>
<p>1. Burning Desire</p>
<p>2. Faith is a State of Mind</p>
<p>3. Autosuggestion</p>
<p>4. Specialized Knowledge</p>
<p>5. Imagination</p>
<p>6. Organized Planning</p>
<p>7. Decisive Action</p>
<p>8. Persistence</p>
<p>9. Mastermind Groups</p>
<p>10. Sex Transmutation (Charisma)</p>
<p>11. The Subconscious Mind</p>
<p>12. The Brain</p>
<p>13. The Sixth Sense</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Napoleon Hill published this book in 1937 and I believe (not sure though) that he started his research exactly 100 years ago in 1913.  The crazy thing about it though is that the principles hold just as strong today as they did 100 years ago.  Now, we have technology, the internet, lamborghinis, and outsourcing.  Then Henry Ford was developing the V8, there was an immense depression and the world seemed much different than today.  Well, when you consider the &#8220;recession / depression&#8221; that we are coming out of, all of the changes to our marketplace, a lot of the fundamentals are still there.  In fact, psychological principles, and standard operating procedures of business, entrepreneurship and success haven&#8217;t changed at all.</p>
<p>The only thing that has changed are the medias of accumulation.  Instead of print ads and newspaper spreads, we now have banner ads and youtube videos.  We are still selling the same  principles of reciprocity, contrast, etc. all at work and influencing people.  The principles were still the same though.  People wanted to provide a better life for themselves and their families, some people were willing to work hard and others wanted it to be handed to them.  Some people (wizards) seemed to know all of the answers, though no one actually did.  The entrepreneur is the one that strives to try harder, think smarter and prevails.  If you are reading this post, then this is what you are.  If you are a real estate professional then this entrepreneur is what you are.  Marketing has not changed, people have not changed, our fundamentals have not changed.  The way we do things has changed but that&#8217;s it.  Consumers in the 1800&#8242;s still wanted the nicest things, just as they do now.  As marketers and salesmen, it is our job to get them these things.  Stay tuned as I am going to write segments detailing Think &amp; Grow Rich over the next two weeks.  It&#8217;s going to help me really understand my own thoughts on the masterpiece and give you a great synopsis.</p>

<p>Notice how you feel when you watch this video. Now you know that Neil Patrick Harris was only a Pretend “Doctor”. He was a child actor. So he was a child pretend “doctor”.  He even tells you in the commercial that he “pretends” to be a doctor.  Why do you think that you were nodding your head in agreement with “Doogie” as if Old Spice is “Doctor Recommended”? (The Paging Dr. Harris at the end reiterates our social trigger of his persona!)</p>
<p>This is a social trigger trap that the company played on you which plays on our culture’s overwhelming reliability on authority figures.  While there are good and bad ways that companies can use this method, I can show you how to use this and hundreds of other “tricks” to boost profits.  Let me note that I will not work with any companies that I deem to be unethical.  In my opinion, Old Spice walks a gray line with this ad.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Today I wanted to talk about a concept that I hold near and dear to my heart.  The fact is that everything in life is marketing.  If you think you are in a “pure” business and don’t sell anything you are completely wrong.    We are constantly selling, not just our products but ourselves.  This is a concept of psychodynamic marketing.  If we can understand how to properly market to all people, in everything we do, well we can literally take over the world.  We can at least get people to give us more money right?  Well, I want to take a short bit of time to look at life from this all life is a marketing marathon perspective.  Look around right now, go ahead and count off as many of the labels as you have the ability to.</p>
<p>I can see a Compaq, AOC, Samson, Samsung, Sony, Pilot, Avirex, Avery, Staples, and a couple others all within arm’s reach as I sit and type (that’s not to mention my shoes, my shirt, the big metal plate in my head, just kidding – it’s only a small metal plate).  What labels can you see right now?  I bet you didn’t consider the paper that you write on, your pens and pencils, etc.  As you can see marketing is all around us.  All of the time, we are being exposed to some type of marketing campaign.  Let’s also look at the marketing that we are doing with our spouses, our kids, our friends, and everyone else we interact with.  We are constantly marketing.  For those of us that are married, we know that their is a constant give and take of negotiations going on in the house from what to watch on TV to purchasing a new property.  For those of you that haven’t had the luxury of marriage and children yet, think about the dating scene and how you are marketing your best qualities to your potential mate.</p>
<p>So now I assume we are in agreement that everything is marketing, right?  At least there is a lot of marketing going on around us.  So why wouldn’t you want to know everything you can about the psychology of marketing?  Lastly, I want to give you another one of my favorite principles.  This is called the reciprocity principle, in the reciprocity principle, you can give someone something as small as a piece of gum and inflict major compliance among them socially.  Pretty cool, huh?  Here is why it works, if I was to come up to you in a meeting and offer you something like a pen, or piece of gum or even helpful advice, then you would feel obligated to helping me with something.  If that something happened to be a sale of a yacht, a new job, or even with a spelling correction, you would feel obligated for a short time.  Now you can’t use this in a ridiculous manner, you can’t be like “oh well I gave you that stick of gum so now you owe me your soul” or anything like that.  Subconsciously though, they owe you and if you play it aloof or nonchalant, you can take advantage of this very subtle psychological trigger.  Try it, I think you will like it.</p>

<h1 style="text-align: center;">What is the meaning of this madness?</h1>
<p>Have you seen this absolutely crazy commercial?  It&#8217;s  a video of a super geek seriously making out with a supermodel!  Every geek&#8217;s dream, right?  Well, why was it the #1 talked about commercial of the superbowl?  It&#8217;s the contrasting juxtaposition.  I am telling you that contrasting juxtapositions get noticed.  They may have done a bit of an overdramatization with this, but the extremes are making it happen.  If they had a video of two mildy attractive or mildly unattractive individuals, do you think the commercial would have done so well?</p>
<p>This is absolute proof as to how contrasting juxtapositions work in marketing.  They will work for you too in real estate!  Try this one on your next nice fixer upper.  Write a blog and video titled &#8220;Country Living in the Big City&#8221; and see how it pulls.  It will pull on average 50% better than &#8220;nice starter home&#8221;.</p>
<p>I hope that you see how contrasting juxtapositions work and if it was the reason behind the number 1 most talked about video of the superbowl, why wouldn&#8217;t you use that marketing strategy?  Just because the medias of marketing are changing, the psychology is not.  We are moving into an age of online marketing that leaves behind the television, radio, print and more.  Those medias are still going to be available, but you must have a great presence on the internet as well.  This is why videos like Gangnam Style take people from $0 (nothing) to making millions of dollars in months.  We are in an age of ingenuity where all people can be just as powerful as the huge corporations.  Honestly, it must  be a scary time for them.</p>
<p>So, let&#8217;s go back over this video one more time.  In it, the contrasting juxtaposition is pairing an ugly dork with a beautiful supermodel.  Awesome, right?  Especially for tech dorks like me?  Actually, I&#8217;m gorgeous, and my mom will tell you that to your face!  I&#8217;m just kidding, I&#8217;m married with two kids and workout regularly, but could be a bit stronger.  100&#8242;s of hours a week in front of a computer definitely do not help me stay in shape.  My mind though is pretty strong.  Oops, another tangent.  Ugly dork, beautiful supermodel, two things that don&#8217;t go together.  They make out for the world to see, Ewww, right?  Good for him.  It was like a bad TV car accident or movie murder scene, can&#8217;t look away.  The superbowl was weeks ago and it is still resonating in the minds of millions of  people.  Was that a good ad for Godaddy?  I&#8217;m sure when people thought of websites, they are still thinking of them.  Your quest, should you choose to accept it, is to take what you learned about contrasting juxtapositions in my last couple of posts, and what you know now about this Godaddy commercial and apply it to your business. Can you do it, can you become more successful using the proven principles of marketing and apply them to the internet?  That is the question.  Well, good luck.</p>

<p>I get sidetracked a lot.  What about you?  In this post, I am going to talk a little bit about how using a free mindmapping software can help you to develop your business plans, game plans, etc. plans!  I use freemind mindmapping software to map out where I want to go with a project.  In fact, I have a bunch of mindmaps built that show exactly how I market to my sphere of influence, how I get my clients and even as far as where I want the business to go and how to grow!  The best news is that this kind of organization will help you keep track of your thoughts (hence the name &#8220;mindmapping&#8221;)!</p>
<p>So what exactly is a mind map then?  Mindmaps are the organizational charts that start with one bubble (the main idea) then they branch out and branch out and branch out.  So with an education marketing platform teaching real estate agents to market online properly like mine, it might start with the ideal client.  So say my ideal client is a woman Realtor who is 40-50 years old, and she has two kids (one in college, one that is still trying to figure it out).  She has been selling real estate for over ten years and knows that she doesn&#8217;t use the internet the way she should be.  In fact, the NAR says that only 4% of Realtors market online the way they should be, but that&#8217;s not applicable here.</p>
<p>So, the first bubble would say (Sara) -&gt; that would branch out first to where I could contact her.  Then another branch would go into how I would get her interest.  Then another branch would go into what I would do after she was interested.  So in this branch if I decided that I would start her off with a free market report showing statistics about how much the internet is impacting the real estate profession then I could start a new set of branches showing what I would do after she gets the report.  Branches from this bubble, (Piqued Interest) -&gt; follow up email, telephone call followup, free teleseminar, etc.</p>
<p>I recommend a 4-7 touch campaign to all leads generated and personal contact if possible to the hot leads.  Are you starting to see the value of the mindmaps?  I also love that you can throw everything out on the wall and see where it all sticks!  I love being able to put an idea up against other ideas in what I like to think of as a &#8220;battle of thoughts&#8221; until the winner is chosen.  It makes me think of gladiators in Ancient Rome!  You should use this mindmapping in all of your business endeavors as well as all other endeavors.  You can easily use it school projects, home renovations, really anything where you need to think of an idea, map it out, choose the best options and move forward.  With this help, I hope you find yourself saving time, making more money and overall being much happier!</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Did you know that a crazy juxtaposition like that really gets people to open articles?  This article isn&#8217;t so much about how much or how little sex fat people are having as much as it is about a great headline like that one!</p>
<p>You know what, let&#8217;s talk about it for a while.  Fortunately, I am in great shape and get to have sex with my wife every night even twice some days.  What about you, how much sex are you having and are you in great shape?  I am willing to bet that the more physically fit you are, the more sex you are having and the happier you and your partner are!</p>
<p>Well, I know for a fact that sex increases intimacy among partners, charisma of the individual as well as confidence and performance ability.  The intimacy of your immediate support system also carries a great value in the department of mental stability and performance.  So let&#8217;s get down to it then, how much SEX are you having?  Remember, I have a Master&#8217;s in Psychology so I know how these types of things affect the mind!</p>
<p>Since I am a marketer, let&#8217;s go into the marketing aspect of this headline real quick.  Do you know what a juxtaposition is?  A juxtaposition is when you put two things together.  So, in this headline you put &#8220;fat people&#8221; and &#8220;better sex&#8221; together and something in your mind thought that wasn&#8217;t correct and influenced you to click on the post.</p>
<p>Had the headline said &#8220;Athletic people have better sex&#8221;, you would have thought, well duh, and skipped right past it.  I&#8217;m glad you didn&#8217;t skip it though.  I want you to realize that you can use contrasting juxtaposition in all of your marketing efforts to increase click through rate, conversions, sales, lead generation, etc.</p>
<p>&#8220;Cozy Home with Mega Personality&#8221; might be a nice headline for a nice little fixer upper or starter home.</p>
<p>&#8220;Country Living in the Big City&#8221; is another great use of contrasting juxtaposition to catch attention.  Okay, okay, let&#8217;s get back to the reason you came to this blog, SEX.</p>
<p>I want you to make sure you leave a comment that says something about sex.  C&#8217;mon do it, don&#8217;t be shy, we know your not shy in the bedroom (your a Tigress, or a LION), so why be here?  Maybe, it&#8217;s that shyness that is putting you in the overweight and still waiting to have sex mentality?  What do you think?</p>
<p>Think about it this way too though, if you lost about twenty pounds or so, you would have more energy, if you had more energy, you would have more invigorating sex, right?  If you had more invigorating sex, you both would enjoy it more, if you enjoyed it more you would be more intimate, right?  If you were more intimate in your relationship, you would be able to focus more, with more focus you would be more productive.  So did we  just rationalize that your success is directly related to your sex life?  Take that one home to your spouse and say that it is just something that has to be done then.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>There is only ONE way to become successful…  There is only ONE way to make a million dollars and you are looking for that magical answer.  You may know this, heck, you may have been referred to as this guy.  The fact is that a common misconception about success is that there is some mysterious secret that someone has and they are not telling you.  Well, I am going to give you the answer to the all powerful amazing earth shattering blow your mind secret.  Are you ready?  Are you really really ready?  O. K. Here it comes… Wait for it, wait, wait…</p>
<p>The Secret is in the Psychology my friend.  Constant betterment of yourself will inevitably lead to success in whatever field you are looking for.  Let’s look at it from a real perspective.</p>
<p>Donald Trump went Bankrupt three times that we know of and is once again a world leader in entrepreneurship.  How did that happen?  Well the Donald, knows something that very few people know.  In fact, all of the 99% (remember that short lived rebellion) doesn’t understand the things about success that are needed to create a long lasting legacy of success.  That is why you and they are the 99%.    You have a huge benefit over them though, you are reading this article.</p>
<p>So now you know that Donald Trump went Bankrupt three times, you know that constant betterment of yourself leads to inevitable success and let me let you in on the last part of this formula.</p>
<p>The last part of the problem is Certainty in yourself.  Not just belief, belief will get you so far but being certain that you can do something will change your life.  What are you certain of right now?  If I asked you to tie your shoes, would you be certain that you could accomplish that?  Ok, hold on to that feeling.  That feeling of instantly knowing that it will happen if you want it to.  That is the feeling of certainty that you have to attack life with.  That is the feeling that you can not be taken out of if you want to achieve something.</p>
<p>So you say, but that is unrealistic, right?  No, you say that is unrealistic and that’s why you are reading this blog and watching me on TV, change your mindset and you will change your life.  Be certain of your abilities.  Potential is endless in this modern era of technology and worldwide opportunity.  If you want to create a business, create it, that’s it my friend.  There is nothing else to it.</p>
<p>People constantly make this mistake though.  I guess I got off a bit on a tangent though, the costly misconception is that there is only one way to become a success.  That’s wrong, most of the products on the market from every infomercial or internet ad you will read will work if you put in the effort of constant betterment to make it work.  There are millions of ways to make money and be a success, there are only a few ways to train your mind to realize that you can do it.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I have had this post in the draft section of the blog for quite sometime.  You see I love entrepreneurship.  That&#8217;s why I became a Realtor.   I honestly believe that is why we all became Realtors.  Then as soon as the state of South Carolina would let me, I became a broker and opened my own brokerage.  This was during the good ole days of the thriving market and money was flowing like water and we were all happy.</p>
<p>Why did you become a real estate agent?  I bet yours is a similar story.  Real estate offers a way to enter into a lifestyle that is just amazing.  Living the way you want to, not having a boss to answer to, and creating a brokerage makes you the only one who profits from your work, it&#8217;s amazing.  I just wanted to bring up the value of freedom to not be controlled by others and what that means to us.</p>
<p>When you boil it all down and take a real deep look at why we got into real estate or why any entrepreneur works for himself, I guarantee, you will come back to this issue of FREEDOM.</p>
<p>Think about money, you may or may not be in a place where all you think about is what else you can buy with your next closing or you might be struggling and thinking about who you can pay to get out of debt.  For a lot of people though, what money is for them is a source of Freedom.  For me, living a life that is under my own control is the most important thing I could ever do and now I am focused on helping other real estate professionals achieve the same goal.</p>
<p>They say that happens though, I have a Master&#8217;s in Psychology and at the top of Maslow&#8217;s hierarchy of needs comes the need for self actualization which is contributing to others.  I guess all real estate professionals and entrepreneurs are doing this, right?  I mean we contribute to others by helping them find a house (which fulfills their needs) and in return we fill our own need to help.  What do you think about that?  Please ask yourself what the value of Freedom is to you and really think about why you got into real estate.</p>
<p>I think that as we age or have been in something for years, we forget the reason why we got into it in the first place.  We all know that there are jobs where you just do what you&#8217;re told and you can earn a healthy living, but we all chose to willingly scoff at the traditional methods and go the commission only, in control of  our destiny, I can do this method.  Please make sure you comment on why you got into real estate.  It&#8217;s very important to realize where you have been to make sure you are going where you want to go.  If I wanted to get to Texas, I could just drive West, right?  Well, not if I lived in California.  You have to know where you are to get to where you want to go.</p>

<p>The Great Peter Drucker once said, “Business is only two things; Innovation and Marketing”.  If you are not innovating, you are a dinosaur and you are quickly being outmarketed by those who are able to keep up with the market.</p>
<p>We encourage you to continue to explore the world of online and internet marketing as we firmly believe that the majority of business in the near future will be done through online transactions.  In fact, 70% of all holiday shoppers in 2012 purchased online which is a 480% increase over just a decade ago in 2002.  Simply put, Americans are turning to the internet for all purchases.</p>
<p>Pertaining to Real Estate, <b>88% of all home searches are now started online.  </b>That is nearly 9 out of 10 prospects!<b>  </b>The average search time has also increased from 6 to 12 weeks due to the use of the internet.  <b>Yet, only 4% of Realtors are getting more than 25% of their business from personal websites. </b>(NAR, 2012)  Do you think that you should be marketing on the internet more?  Also, foreclosures have increased from 801,000 in 2007 to 2,300,000 in 2012.  2013 is projected to be similar to 2012.  There are also roughly half as many houses for sale today as there were five years ago. (Realtor.com &#8211; 1.7 million in December, 2012 compared to 3.1 million in 2007)</p>
<p>What is this saying to us?  Well, prospects and clients are turning to the internet more, doing more research on their own, and the inventory is shrinking dramatically.  More and more prospects and clients are learning real estate and <b>truthfully the Realtor profession is in danger of extinction</b>.  Rapidly, we are seeing Realtors who are unable to adapt, innovate, and market modernly go out of business.  Our attempt is to help you stay at the top of the curve of technologically advanced real estate professionals through education.  I will keep this very brief because I understand the value of your time and I thank you again for allowing my company to be your personal expert in real estate internet marketing.</p>
